Action Alert
El Centro included among its policy agenda items for 2012 the importance of a strong, equitable revenue foundation for the state of Kansas, and that foundation is imperiled this week.
The Kansas Legislature is considering a tax cut plan that Legislative Research estimates could cost more than $700 million in lost tax revenue over the next 5 years, turning a positive ending balance into the very real possibility of significant shortfalls, and denying Kansas the opportunity to restore the harmful budget cuts of the past several years.
